Located on a stunning coastal peninsular 8 miles to the north of Dublin, Portmarnock Golf Club is recognised as one of the great golf clubs of the World.
With a history dating back to 1894, which includes hosting the first Irish Open Championship in 1927, and on many occasions since, Portmarnock it is considered by many to be the Irish Open’s spiritual heart.
As with many golf clubs, the remote location and open aspect of the site presents the club managers with particular security and access control problems. They turned to Goldeneye UK for a solution. Goldeneye designed and installed an integrated security and access control system based on the latest IP (Internet Protocol) technology and Mobotix network IP cameras.

“Goldeneye installed an access barrier, an access control system and provided two way voice communications at our gatehouse and using IP technology, we are now able to control the barrier and access to the club from the clubhouse half a mile away. This saved us the cost of having the gatehouse permanently manned and meant that the installation of the security and access control system has actually saved the club money. The clubhouse has recently undergone a full refurbishment and the Goldeneye team carried out a very neat installation which did not compromise the visual integrity of the building.
